Come along one training night and see what goes on. Talk to any of our training Instructors who are more than happy to answer questions.
PUPPY CLASS
Puppy Training starts at 10 weeks and is an ongoing process until 5 months of age – you then proceed to Class One. The class is designed as an introduction to socialisation, basic commands and positive reward training techniques. Information is provided on a range of topics.
CLASS ONE
Designed for the beginner. This is the introduction to working in company with other dogs, teaching walking at heel, sit and stay exercises. All training is done on the lead. Once the basics are understood and applied, you are then elevated to Class Two.
CLASS TWO
Builds on the skills developed in Class One. Automatic sits and good heel work can lead to elevation to Class Three.
CLASS THREE
Extends the work in Class Two and introduces the recall. A greater level of discipline and handler competence is encouraged. This class starts to groom your training with a view to entering competitive obedience trials.
Competence and confidence will get you elevated to Class Four.
CLASS FOUR
Is the Advanced class. Working off lead is practiced and a good standard of proficiency is developed in “Groups”, heel work and specific elements of dog control – to a standard required to be successful in the competion ring.
You are now well on your way to actively taking part in events organised through the Canine Control Council of Queensland, trading as Dogs Queensland.
AGILITY
The Club has all the equipment required for Agility training. Classes are run on demand when a sufficient number of enthusiastic handlers and dogs are enrolled.
